About Me:
After graduating from the St. louis Institute of Music and a brief stint of teaching, Ken Palmer left St. Louis to study organ performance with organist Herbert Manfred Hoffmann at Frankfurt Germany. During his three year stay, he performed organ recitals, sang and recorded with the Frankfurter Kantatenkreis and performed with members of the the Hessicher Rundfunk Orchester. He financed his studies by tours through Germany , France and Spain as music director for the Gisela gunther and Heinz Schneider Agencies. He returned to his home in St. louis and joined the St. Louis Jazz Quartet. After appearances with the quartet in concert with the St. louis Symphony Orchestra, he was invited back on many occasions to appear as guest pianist with the orchestra under such conductors as Walter Susskind , Henry mancini, Richard Hayman and Leonard Slatkin to name a few. He holds bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in composition and organ performance from the former St. Louis Institute of Music and Washington University ( St. Louis). He composes, concertizes, and records in the the St. Louis Area.
